The Autobag brand bags on a roll started a packaging revolution. Prior to this creative idea it was much more difficult to place a product into a plastic bag and then seal it. Typically, a worker would pick a bag up and then manually put the product into the bag. While holding each corner of the bag the packer would then place the bag in a heat sealer or apply a twist tie or tape to close the bag. This is a slow and laborious process. Two brothers, Bernie and Hershey Lerner saw a need and an opportunity to automate this process. From a garage in Brooklyn New York in 1962 they started a company that is now headquartered in Streetsboro, Ohio and has over 800 employees globally.

They developed a way to keep bags connected to each other while being open. After this patented breakthrough they made a simple machine that evolved into what today is called the Pacesetter HB55.

Through diligence and a lot of travel it was an “instant” success. Through incredible hard work and sacrifice they have built a company that has the most advanced packaging machinery and types for different industry. Autobag also has the capability to print up to 10 colors.
