In 2013, I somehow got connected with a start-up company in West Chester, PA that was started by husband and wife team, Brian and Andrea Polizzi. They make premium waffles that are of their own recipes and absolutely out of this world tasty. They have an online presence and sell to local outlets. They have been growing steadily every year and moved to a new facility 2 years ago to accommodate their growth.
The first order of business was to spruce up the package that was being used to protect the waffle itself. There were issues with the original polyethylene bags that were cloudy and also breathable to the point where the sugar crystals used in baking would dissolve and distort the waffle itself. A label that was printed by Waffatopia was also adhered by hand to the bag, an extra step in the process. The solution we provided was a pre- printed polypropylene bag with beautiful Waffatopia graphics and better barrier properties. Add in the increased clarity that polypro provides and add an E-Z open tear notch and voila! This bag proved to be a huge improvement over the old concept while eliminating the need for hand applied labels.
Another area of improvement was the inner shipping box that housed 4, 8 or 12 waffles. The old style was a somewhat mundane mailer style box that also had a hand applied label. Upon Waffatopia’s request we found a company to print their graphics right on the box. A beautiful solution conceived by Waffatopia and through our knowledge of manufacturers in the industry, carried out quite efficiently. Now the brand was really taking shape on the bags and the boxes.
We also offered solutions for in the box protection and also supply the tape used to ensure proper closure of the boxes in shipping. We hope that our expertise can help your company, large or small, achieve (or at least get you closer) to your goals!
